The Organizing of the 18th edition of IEEE WIFS 2026 is a joint work between the two General Chair Rémi Cogranne (Troyes University of Technology) and Minoru Kuribayashi (Tohoku University).

The conference will be held in the Sakura Hall, in the historical Katahira Campus of Tohoku University, within walking distance from Sendai City center, the main shopping street and the never-sleeping kokubunchô street that never sleeps.

Sendai City, often referred to as the “City of Trees”, offers a captivating blend of natural beauty, historical depth, and modern convenience. Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the mountains of Miyagi Prefecture, its location provides both scenic landscapes and a temperate climate, ideal for year-round living and exploration.

The attendees will enjoy in Sendai Japanese National Treasures such as the Zuihoden Mausoleum, Osaki Hachimangu Shrine and Rinoji temple. The city boasts a rich cultural life, traditional crafts, and a vibrant food scene featuring specialities like gyutan (grilled beef tongue), see food fresh directly from the harbour served in sushi restaurants and the Japanese iconic ramen.

Its excellent transportation network connects it efficiently to major regional hubs, making travel to Sendai both fast and convenient. Its airport offers connections to main regional cities, such as Taipei, Seoul, Tokyo and Shanghai, to cite a few, making Sendai reacheable from any major city all around the world.
